Internet connectionAn NIC Inc. subsidiary has won a five-year recompete contract to extend its support work for the state of South Carolina’s public digital portals.

NIC’s South Carolina Interactive unit began work on the new e-government services contract with the state on July 16, NIC said Thursday.

Work could run through July 2021 if a renewal option is exercised.

South Carolina Interactive redesigned the S.C. government’s website and helps officials run more than 1,000 interactive public services through the site.

The NIC unit also developed an online customer service portal for the state Department of Natural Resources as well as an electronic complaint filing system for the state Consumer Affairs Department.
