Prior to Ball Aerospace, Heaton served as special assistant to the deputy director of the National Geospatial‐Intelligence Agency.

Her previous roles at NGA also include director of the office of corporate communications, chief information officer, and director of InnoVision.

Heaton’s 30-year career in the defense and intelligence fields also include service at the National Security Agency.

Heaton holds a master’s degree in national resource strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis.
