Huntington Ingalls Industries has contracted healthcare provider QuadMed to establish and manage two clinics as part of a wellness program for its employees and their families.
The health centers, to be located in proximity to HII’s shipyards in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Newport News, Virginia, will be able to cater to Ingalls Shipbuilding and Newport News Shipbuilding workers as early as next year, HII said Sept. 4.
The clinics will have a pharmacy, laboratory and radiology department.
“QuadMed’s commitment to strong patient-provider relationships and patient confidentiality is evident by their 98 percent patient satisfaction rate,†said Bill Ermatinger, corporate vice president and chief human resources officer at HII.
“It is our hope that the availability of these healthcare centers will contribute to a robust and enhanced culture of health and wellness among our employees,” he added.
