IBMlogo3 EbizIBM has opened a new cloud resiliency center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina in a move to help businesses protect their assets from disruptions.

The company combined cloud and traditional disaster recovery systems with new physical security features into the new facility, IBM said Monday.

Monitise has partnered with IBM to grow mobile banking, payments and commerce ecosystems at cloud resilience centers in RTP and Boulder through the cloud resiliency center.

“The work we’re doing with Monitise at this new cloud resiliency center is a strong testament to IBM partnerships with enterprise clients to drive new innovation,” said Mike Errity, vice president of business continuity and resiliency services at IBM.

The resiliency center’s team will work to monitor disaster events and configure the customers’ infrastructure to handle the threats.

IBM also plans to open two new cloud-based resiliency centers in Mumbai, India and Izmir and Turkey in late 2014.
