Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. has appointed Gretchen W. McClain as the newest member of its board of director.
McClain’s experiences gleaned from previous leadership roles in government and industry will help in the company’s push to expand its engineering and technology services portfolios, Ralph Shrader, Booz Allen chairman and CEO, said Tuesday.
“Her experience as the CEO of a publicly traded company will be valuable, as will her guidance as we continue to expand our engineering, C4ISR and rapid prototyping capabilities,†he added.
McClain, who will sit on the board’s compensation committee, is the former chief executive of global water technology company Xylem, an ITT spinoff firm.
She was a deputy associate administrator for space development at NASA before joining the private sector at AlliedSignal, which later merged with Honeywell Aerospace.
McClain is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Utah.
