Lockheed Martin BlueLockheed Martin has delivered an initial digital air ground integration range to the U.S. Army‘s program executive office simulation, training and instrumentation at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The company demonstrated the range in an arms live fire exercise during the government’s acceptance test, Lockheed said Thursday.

“The digital air ground integration range offers more realistic training, helping soldiers, crews and platoons build confidence as they prepare for missions they’ll face in today’s operational environment,” said Jim Weitzel, vice president of training solutions for Lockheed’s mission system and training business.

Ground maneuver units and attack aviation teams work to coordinate and engage targets in the same battle space with the range, Lockheed said.

DAGIR also is designed to combine air and ground assets to transmit comprehensive feedback to soldiers during training.
