General Electric has won a $2.6 million contract to supply rugged computers for integration into the simulation equipment of infantry combat vehicles that BAE Systems is building for the U.S. Army.
BAE plans to implement GE’s 3U VPX computing technology with the common embedded training system onboard the Bradley Fighting Vehicles, GE said Monday.
GE computers are designed with Intel‘s Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA graphic processing unit and built to support legacy or nonstandard displays.
The platform is based on GE’s CRS-D5I integrated video processing, display and control computer product for manned aircraft, drones, ground tactical vehicles and underwater vessels.
