General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is contracted to build 72 vehicles through 2016 under the Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 program, which the company won in August 2013, General Dynamics said Tuesday.

“We look forward to continuing this strong partnership with USSOCOM and we are fully committed to providing this unique capability on schedule and within cost,” said Tim Neaves, director of lightweight vehicle programs for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems.

The GMV 1.1 vehicle is General Dynamics’ Flyer 72 platform that is designed to include USSOCOM modification requirements.

General Dynamics and Flyer Defense jointly developed the Flyer 72.
