Grant thornton logoStephen Chipman, who will be succeeded by Mike McGuire as CEO of Grant Thornton in 2015, will take the role of senior vice chair at the global consulting and professional services firm on Jan. 1, 2015.

The firm’s revenue has grown 22 percent over the last three fiscal years and launched business groups in China, India and Japan during his tenure as chief executive, Grant Thornton said Friday.

Chipman, a 30-year Grant Thornton veteran and former U.S. CEO, has also held leadership roles for the firm’s operations in Europe, Asia and North America and served on the firm’s U.S. leadership team for 12 years.

He also led the firm through its acquisition of Marketsphere‘s Oracle solutions business unit.
