Cloud Computing, ExecutiveBizIBM and Microsoft have inked a cooperation agreement intended to expand the enterprise customer’s hybrid cloud options.

Under the partnership, the two companies will make their enterprise software available on both IBM Cloud and Microsoft Azure, providing more avenues for partners, developers and other clients to pursue their business goals, IBM said Wednesday.

The relationship will specifically include WebSphere Liberty and other IBM middleware and database on the Azure platform, while Microsoft’s Windows Server and SQL Server database will be on offer for clients of IBM Cloud.

“Together we are creating new opportunities to drive innovation in hybrid cloud,” said Robert LeBlanc, senior vice president for software and cloud solutions at IBM.

“This agreement reinforces IBM’s strategy in providing open cloud technology for the enterprise.”
