Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Patrick Hughes, a former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, will work as a senior consultant with Hazelwood Street Consultants and advise clients at principal and Senior Executive Service levels.

The consultancy firm said Thursday Hughes will support the delivery of intelligence analytics and response services for incidents such as kidnapping for ransom, extortion and marine piracy.

Hughes has also served as assistant secretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, intelligence director at the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the U.S. Central Command, commanding general of the U.S. Army Intelligence Agency and the Army’s assistant deputy chief of staff for intelligence.

He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, Military Intelligence Corps Knowlton Award and the Central Intelligence Agency Seal Medallion.

Hughes is a member of the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame.
