Dell SecureWorks has introduced a malware detection and protection service offering that is intended to help organizations counter advanced threats.

The malware detection system incorporates Dell SecureWorks’ threat intelligence and Lastline’s malware defense platform, Dell said Monday.

The technology is designed to monitor and review email, file and Web traffic on an organization’s network.

“Once organizations are alerted to suspicious activity, they must rapidly respond to determine with a high degree of confidence about the level of threat in order to minimize potential impact,” said Col. (ret.) Barry Hensley, executive director of Dell SecureWorks’ counter threat unit.

Dell SecureWorks also provides security analysis, critical events escalation, upgrade and patch management, threat diagnosis and threat response services.
