ElectronicWarfareIXI Technology has been awarded a contract to provide a tactical data conversion platform for electronic warfare systems onboard U.S. Navy ships.

The Navy chose IXI’s Data I/O Converter to translate information stored in the legacy Naval Tactical Data System into a format intended to support the military branch’s AN/SLQ-32(V) shipboard EW system, IXI said Tuesday.

“The need to translate the wealth of tactical information acquired by aging technology into useful and timely data is paramount for today’s military operations,” said Michael Carter, CEO of IXI Technology.

IXI designed the converter to also link radars and weapons to computers with Windows or Linux operating systems through an Ethernet local area network.

Data I/O Converter is approved to integrate with the Aegis combat management platform.
