Unisys will establish a new client service center at Discovery Plaza in Augusta, Georgia, to deliver information technology support services to both the U.S. Army and commercial clients.

The company said Monday the new site covers 118,000 square feet of office space and could accommodate 700 new local jobs over the next five years, according to an earlier announcement by Gov. Nathan Deal.

PV Puvvada, president of Unisys’ federal systems business, noted that the company will use the facility’s resources to provide customer service to military, government and commercial clients.

Unisys plans to move from its temporary office in Augusta to the Discovery Plaza facility in the third quarter of this year.

“We look forward to being part of the Augusta business community and contributing to the growth of the region,” said Ron Frankenfield, president of Unisys’ enterprise solutions unit.

The company is working with the Fort Gordon Cyber Center of Excellence and Georgia Department of Labor to recruit IT staff for the new center.
