VMware will offer a hybrid cloud platform through a U.K. government procurement vehicle meant to help the country’s public sector organizations to acquire cloud computing services.
The company holds a position on the G-Cloud 6 framework contract to supply its VCloud Air products to British customer agencies, VMware said Tuesday.
VCloud Air is designed to integrate with an organization’s existing information technology infrastructure and allow IT professionals to build enterprise applications.
Andy Tait, head of public sector strategy at VMware, said the company aims for agencies to use the platform to manage cloud environments on their premises while complying with data security and sovereignty laws.
The VCloud suite is comprised of Dedicated Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud and Disaster Recovery as a Service offerings and available on the U.K.’s G-Cloud 6 digital marketplace.
