Bae-systems-logo_ExecutiveBiz1BAE Systems has been awarded a three-year, $13.8 million contract with the U.S. Navy to update the weapon launch platforms on U.S. and allied nations’ submarines.

The company will work to develop, analyze and integrate new weapon launch and payload systems; control interfaces; and assemble and evaluate test facilities and naval platforms, BAE said Tuesday.

BAE Systems will carry out the task at the company’s facilities in Middletown, Rhode Island, and Groton, Connecticut.

Mark Keeler, vice president and general manager of integrated electronics and warfare systems at BAE Systems, said the company has been supporting the Navy for more than four decades by leveraging new engineering tools.

BAE’s team of engineers and specialists will also provide on-call knowledge of submarine systems.
