droneGeneral DynamicsEuropean Land Systems subsidiary and Danish unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer Sky-Watch have agreed to explore potential areas of cooperation on remotely piloted aircraft technology for military customers.

GDELS said April 23 that Sky-Watch aims to look into new UAV technology applications in the battlefield by collaborating with other organizations.

Jens Bauer, senior director of international business and services at GDELS, said General Dynamics has helped many Danish firms to develop new defense platforms over the past 20 years through an industry cooperation program.

Spain-based GDELS announced Thursday that it won a contract from the Danish defense ministry to build Piranha 5 armored infantry fighting vehicles for Denmark’s armed forces.

Denmark seeks to acquire at least 206 new armored personnel carriers.
