FireEye_logo_EMJulie Cullivan, chief information officer of FireEye, has said the company uses an adaptive framework to defend its enterprise systems against a security breach, V3.co.uk reported Tuesday.

She was quoted as saying that FireEye has been a target of attacks because it releases specific reports about incidents linked to hacker groups and nation-states.

“We’re tightly aligned with our intelligence teams so we work proactively so when there is going to be a report, news of a zero-day, anything big that’s going to come out, we have several planning sessions,” Cullivan told V3.

She noted the adaptive security model is part of the company’s move cloud computing and mobile platforms.

She also told V3 the company has implemented several initiatives to raise security awareness among non-technical employees and is investing money to help narrow a skills gap in the information technology workforce.

“We’ve created a women in technology and security group at FireEye and we’re committed to meeting monthly and offering mentorship for women who want to move around within the organization,” she added, according to the report.
