David Bell Named EdgeWave’s Security Analytics Technical Director; Mike Walls Comments

David Bell, formerly deputy director of the U.S. Navy Red Team for the Navy Information Operations Command, has been appointed technical director of security operations and analysis at EdgeWave.

EdgeWave said Thursday Bell spent nearly 20 years at the Navy, where he led a team of military servicemen and civilian personnel to develop strategies that seek to improve how the military branch and the Defense Department respond to cyber threats.

“We’re thrilled to bring David on board and look forward to leveraging his extensive offensive and defensive cyber experience,” said Mike Walls, managing director of security operations and analysis at EdgeWave.

Bell was a cryptologic technician for the military unit for nearly a decade and held a contract support role at the U.S. Joint Forces Command via Prosoft Engineering.

He is a recipient of the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal from the Department of the Navy.
