Mercury-SystemsMercury Systems has landed a $5.2 million contract to supply radar subsystems and digital processing tools to a defense company that is building a missile weapon system.

Mercury said Wednesday it booked the order during the fourth quarter of its 2015 fiscal year and is scheduled to deliver the products in the coming quarters.

Didier Thibaud, president of Mercury’s commercial electronics unit, said the company’s OpenVPX radar component is designed with a rugged structure and an open architecture.

The Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based company has built subsystems for the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program and Aegis, Patriot, F-35 and Gorgon Stare programs.
