big data2Hortonworks Inc. has been recognized in The Channel Company‘s 2015 CRN list of emerging vendors that develop and provide new technologies.

The Channel Company cited Hortonworks for helping North America-based channel partners to develop services for clients through the Hortonworks Apache Hadoop open platform, Hortonworks said Thursday.

“We are honored with this recognition and excited about how the growth and success our partners has helped drive the Hadoop ecosystem forward,” said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development at Hortonworks.

Hortonworks collaborated with its partners to develop data platform version 2.3.

“Enabling a vibrant ecosystem around Hadoop has been core to Hortonworks strategy since the beginning of the company and this milestone illustrates the adoption of Hadoop in the enterprise,” Ferguson added.

Hortonworks’ partners include Red Hat, EMC and Hitachi Data Systems.
