F35Lockheed Martin has delivered an F-35 operations management backbone technology and a flight training system to the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Autonomic Logistics Information System is designed to help military users operate and maintain the fighter aircraft, James Sprang, Lockheed’s ALIS field lead, said Tuesday.

The Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 (VMFA-121) received version 2.0.1 of the software on new mobile equipment, according to Lockheed.

Lockheed said the military branch’s F-35 Lightning II Training System is comprised of academic, live flight and simulation tools and is deemed ready for use alongside a Block 2B initial warfighting software program.

The Marine Corps expects to achieve initial operating capability for its F-35 fleet in July and the aircraft is scheduled for deployment aboard amphibious carriers following an IOC declaration.
