Bae-systems-logo_ExecutiveBiz1BAE Systems has started to develop robotic systems that will work to assist the human workforce in building future warplanes, The Telegraph reported Saturday.

Alan Tovey writes lessons gained from BAE’s history of developing jet fighters contributed to the idea of what the company has dubbed as “cobotics.”

Cliff Robson, senior vice president of BAE’s F-35 fighter project, said cobotics is the result of BAE’s efforts to polish the company’s standards for building every generation of warplanes, according to the report.

Robson added that the robotics system is designed to help “drive accuracy [in] building aircraft,” Tovey reports.
