Michael Kauffman

Michael Kauffman serves as managing director of legal division at Dell.

He brings more than two decades of business management, national security law, regulatory compliance and government contracting experience to his role at Dell.

Kauffman joined the company in 2014 after spending five years at software firm Proteus Technologies, where he served as vice president of legal and contracts and strategy and business development VP.

Prior to joining Proteus, he worked for nearly a decade at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems as general counsel and VP.

During his tenure at General Dynamics, he helped the firm introduce the digital forensics business, managed legal concerns related to the firm’s contracts and subcontracts and developed procedures for personnel deployment.

Kauffman also worked at several law firms, such as Holland & Knight LLP, Semmes, Bowen & Semmes and Riley & Artabane.

He previously served as general counsel for the Central Maryland chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.

Kauffman holds a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and graduated magna cum laude from Hood College with a bachelor’s degree in law and society.
