Raytheon-logoRaytheon has won a Brandon Hall Group award for a three-dimensional virtual training platform the company designed to teach U.S. soldiers to operate Patriot missile batteries.

The company said Wednesday its missile battery training system received the silver Brandon Hall award in the “Best Use of Games or Simulations for Learning” category.

Raytheon built the technology for U.S. Army personnel to create avatars in a video game-like environment where they can learn how to load missiles into Patriot launchers.

The Army’s Lower Tier Project Office collaborated with the company’s intelligence, information and services unit to employ virtual methods in the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Training Device Roadmap and Sustainment Strategy program.
