Research and Markets has released a new report that forecasts smart commercial drones markets will grow to $27.1 billion by 2021 from $3.4 billion in 2014.
The report predicts commercial-grade consumer video drones will take the largest chunk of revenue throughout the forecast period, Research and Markets said Sept. 11.
According to the data services provider, the growth of the other segments – agriculture, oil and gas, border patrol, law enforcement, homeland security, disaster response and package delivery – will depend on the use case performance of commercial drones.
The report also notes that drones are more well received in developing countries than in the U.S.
