F-35Lockheed Martin has downselected Denmark-based machine parts manufacturer Multicut A/S to produce brackets, fittings and other aluminum components for the F-35 fighter jets under a pending contract award.

“This contract award with Multicut reaffirms Lockheed Martin’s commitment to grow the industrial participation program with Danish companies of all sizes,” Jack Crisler, vice president of the F-35 program at Lockheed, said in a statement released Thursday.

“Should Denmark select the F-35, Danish companies will be involved in the construction of the F-35 global fleet, and potentially in sustainment of the F-35 over the entire lifecycle of the program.”

The notification marks the first time that Multicut will carry out aluminum parts production work for Lockheed under a three-year agreement.

Multicut A/S CEO Lars Rasmussen said the contract award for the fighter planes will help the firm to expand into component manufacturing.
