Morpho has been awarded a nearly $1 million contract to produce explosives trace detector for the Department of Homeland Security’s science and technology directorate.
Morpho Detection will develop the company’s Itemiser DX Air Cargo detector kit meant to update the threat library for new explosives, Morpho said Wednesday.
The prototype kits are scheduled for delivery to the DHS S&T in 2016 for testing.
“The Advanced Itemiser DX will help maximize system life by quickly and easily upgrading ETD detection capabilities to meet emerging threats and air cargo screening challenges,” said Karen Bomba, president and CEO of Morpho Detection.
Itemiser DX works to identify explosive residue on various materials.
