PatriotMissileThe U.S. Army has led a missile defense test at White Sands Missile Range to check the interception functions of a Lockheed Martin-built missile as part of Raytheon‘s Patriot integrated air and missile defense system.

Lockheed said Thursday two PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement missiles intercepted the designated targets during the test.

PAC-3 MSE is an update to the PAC-3 missile and features hit-to-kill technology, a dual-pulse solid rocket motor and other enhancements that work to increase the missile’s range and performance.

Raytheon said PAC-3 MSE is part of the latest configuration of the Patriot system known as Post-Deployment Build 8, which includes the new Radar Digital Processor and the Modern Man Station.
