Chris Allam, engineering director of the military air and information business at BAE Systems, has joined Reaction Engines‘ board of directors.
Allam will be responsible for coordinating joint efforts of BAE and Reaction Engines to develop the SABRE-class aerospace engine technology, Reaction Engines said Monday.
His appointment came after BAE invested $31.85 million into Reaction Engines in November to support the latter company’s rocket engine development initiative.
Allam also serves on the board of BAE’s military air and information unit and has been in charge of the organization’s engineering and project management activities over the past two years.
Before that, he oversaw F-35 Lightning II and Autonomous Systems and Future Capability programs at BAE, as well as directed its portfolio of unmanned air vehicles.
