American Systems Hits CMMI Maturity Level 3; Peter Smith Comments

American Systems has achieved the third level of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for development.

American Systems underwent appraisal for the firm’s process management, project and work management and engineering services for the Defense Department, federal healthcare and civilian agencies, American Systems said Wednesday.

“Continuous improvement is embedded in our service delivery framework, and achieving an appraisal at CMMI Maturity Level 3 validates our quality management philosophy,” said Peter Smith, American Systems president and CEO.

CMMI recommends steps to help organizations identify and troubleshoot problems, as well as to boost performance.
