FiscalNote Adds Former Army General Stanley McChrystal to Board of Directors - top government contractors - best government contracting eventStanley McChrystal, a retired U.S Army general, has joined FiscalNote‘s board of directors after prior service as an adviser to the Washington-based open data services company since 2014.

“Stan’s remarkable military career and exemplified leadership skills will be invaluable resources to FiscalNote as the company grows and expands into the business compliance and international law sectors,” FiscalNote CEO Tim Hwang said Tuesday.

“I had my experience in a military career but now I have five and a half years experience in the business world so what I hope to do is be able to contribute in some ways to the challenges of a growing company,” McChrystal said.

McChrystal is a former commander of U.S. and NATO coalition forces in Afghanistan and has also led Joint Special Operations Command.

He led the development and implementation of a counter-insurgency strategy in Afghanistan and the creation of a counter-terrorism organization.

He founded McChrystal Group in 2011, an advisory services firm of professionals from the military, academic, business and intelligence sectors that aim to supply U.S. businesses with leadership strategies.
