F35Lockheed Martin has awarded a $166.3 million subcontract to BAE Systems to construct three engineering and training facilities at a U.K. air force base in the country as Britain prepares to take in its first F-35 fighter jets aircraft in 2018.

BAE said Thursday the contract covers maintenance and finishing work, logistics operations and integrated training facilities to support the F-35 program.

BAE noted the contract award coincides with the early completion of the 10th aft fuselage for the U.K.’s fleet of F-35s.
