Parsons has signed a statement of support with the Defense Department‘s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve office Wednesday in recognition of company employees who are members of the U.S. National Guard and Army Reserve.

Under the agreement, the company will comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve, Parsons said Thursday.

“We currently have more than 1,000 employees who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, including the Guard and Reserve,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons federal group president and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016.

She noted that Parsons seeks to promote diversity in its workforce composition as one of the company’s six core values.

The statement of support also calls for the company to encourage opportunities to hire guardsmen, reservists and veterans and support service members — along with their families — during times of crises or war, Parsons added.
