Cubic logoA Cubic subsidiary has been awarded a $5 million contract to integrate new software systems into inflatable satellite antenna terminals for the U.S. Army prior to the terminals’ tests.

Cubic said Thursday its GATR Technologies business will perform the engineering services in support of the Army’s Transportable Tactical Command Communications program.

Mike Twyman, executive vice president of communications, intelligence and surveillance systems at Cubic’s global defense segment, said GATR Technologies has collaborated with the service branch to develop a satellite communications program with its inflatable satellite terminals.

GATR also supplied 10 inflatable satellite antenna terminals to the Project Manager Warfighter Information Network–Tactical for testing purposes.

The unit could deliver more than 780 GATR terminals if the government exercises all purchase orders under the T2C2 program.
