Raytheon has opened a new facility in Richardson, Texas that will house data processing work for unmanned airborne and space-based operations, WBAP/KLIF News reported Monday.

According to the station, Raytheon looks to hire at least 2,000 workers in the city to add to the current pool of 27,000 employees across Texas.

Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence segment, said the company has sought to build a more modern facility compared to its campus in Garland.

He also noted the work of Raytheon’s engineers, developers, cyber experts and scientists to support the defense and other industries, the report said.

Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services segment is headquartered in Dulles, Virginia and delivers cybersecurity, C4ISR and mission support services along with its training, space, logistics and engineering strategies for government and civilian clients.
