NavyC5ISRGlobal Technical Systems has secured a $7.6 million contract from the U.S. Navy for the procurement of as many as 12,275 hardware components to be used for the Technique Control Modulator Hydra.

The Defense Department said Wednesday the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division will obligate $55,498 from the U.S. Air Force‘s fiscal 2015 missile procurement and fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds.

Work will commence in Virginia through May 2021.

TCM Hydra countermeasures are used to generate radio frequency signals to support the testing and evaluation of weapon systems and training of fleet operators, DoD said.

The systems can also be deployed in laboratories and unmanned aerial targets for use in live fire development and operational testing, according to a FedBizOpps notice published September 2015.
