DHS - ExecutiveMosaicMission Ready Services has received an order from the Department of Homeland Security to produce an additional 176 uniform in cooperation with North Carolina State University for emergency responders.

NCSU will subject the additional uniforms through further systems-level tests and DHS will perform field evaluations on the units, Mission Ready Services said Tuesday.

Mission Ready Services’ Protect The Force subsidiary and NCSU started to collaborate on the multipurpose base ensemble in 2015 under a cooperative agreement.

The uniform incorporates flame resistance, blood-borne pathogen protection, water repellency, integrated knee pads and high visibility features.

PTF will also coordinate the NFPA 1975 approval process for the materials and ensemble to gauge flame-resistance features through the Underwriters Laboratory certification process.
