researchThe White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy has asked for information on artificial intelligence technologies that could support OSTP’s efforts to recommend research directions and determine challenges and opportunities.

In a Federal Register notice posted Monday, OSTP said it seeks feedback from academic and industry researchers, consumers, private companies and charitable foundations to inform the office’s view on AI research, tools, technologies and training.

OSTP solicits responses that cover legal and governance implications, public use, safety and control issues, social and economic impact, fundamental research questions, research gaps, scientific and technical training, specific training data sets and the potential role of “market shaping” approaches.

OSTP has set a July 22 deadline for response submissions.
