NavyC5ISRL-3 Communications has received a nine-year $160 million, subcontract from Bollinger Shipyards to provide an integrated C4ISR system for the U.S. Coast Guard‘s future Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutters.

L-3 said Monday it will provide initial design updates to the FRC ships such as antenna arrangement and analysis, exterior communications and other situation awareness platforms.

The company will also deliver, install and support the integrated bridge, interior and exterior communications and the distributed navigation equipment for the Sentinel-class cutters.

“This award expands on L-3’s legacy of ISR integration and leverages our leadership in maritime communications for a wide range of vessels around the globe,” said John Mega, president of L-3’s communication systems business line.

The Coast Guard awarded a potential $1.42 billion contract to Bollinger Shipyards in May for the procurement of up to 26 Sentinel-class fast response cutters.
