LifePort's Transport Litter System Receives FAA Performance Standard Approval - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Federal Aviation Administration has cleared the Stanchion Litter System developed by a business unit of Lockheed Martin subsidiary Sikorsky as compliant with the agency’s minimum performance standard for aircraft appliances and components.

Lockheed Martin said Monday the FAA Technical Standard Order approval works to support domestic and international installation of the LifePort-built system.

SLS weighs less than 155 pounds, features adjustable litter-retention brackets and is designed to support various transport litter types and deliver operational flexibility and compatibility with different aircraft platforms.

The U.S. Air Force currently uses the system on its KC-135R Stratotanker airplane, Lockheed said.

FAA’s TSO approval gives Sikorsky’s LifePort business the authority to manufacture SLS.
