cybersecurityInformation technology trade group CompTIA has established a new cybersecurity standard with the goal to help IT companies prepare for breach incidents.

CompTIA said Monday its Channel Standard for Cybersecurity is based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity and suggests threat identification, protection, detection, response and recovery strategies.

“Adherence to these industry standards and best practices will help channel companies to optimize their standing as experts at a time when cybersecurity is a growing concern and priority for so many of their customers,” said Kelly Ricker, CompTIA senior vice president of events and education.

CompTIA also established a standard meant to help managed print services providers manage business generation, delivery and operations, customer relations and business direction functions.

The cybersecurity and managed print industry standards are available to registered users, premier members and non-members on the trade group’s website.
