softwareOracle has received a five-year contract to provide software products and support services to New Zealand’s government organizations, Computerworld reported Tuesday.

Stuart Corner writes all of the country’s departments and agencies will have access to  Oracle software licenses, cloud services and appliances under the agreement.

The New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs facilitated the deal as part of the Software Acquisition Strategy program that aims to extend a cross-government licensing framework to international software vendors, Corner reports.

The report said the department also looks to work with VMware and Citrix through the SAS program.
