Speedcast to Offer Inmarsat’s Global Xpress Broadband Service to International Govt Agencies; Andy Start Comments

Speedcast International has agreed to offer Inmarsat’s Global Xpress mobile broadband service to public sector clients worldwide.

SpeedCast will act as a value-added reseller to support the deployment of Inmarsat’s GX service to emerging government markets across the world, Inmarsat said Monday.

The agreement comes two months after Speedcast agreed to field Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress maritime GX platform.

Andy Start, president of Inmarsat’s global government business, said the company will leverage Speedcast’s satellite communications experience and global presence in satcom market to advance the adoption of GX service by government clients worldwide.

Inmarsat’s GX entered commercial service in December and works to provide high-speed broadband coverage across ground, aerial and maritime areas.
