An Accenture subsidiary has received a potential 16-month, $7.8 million contract from the Defense Health Agency to develop, test and field a joint platform designed to support the credentialing process for health care providers between the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
ASM Research will build a tool based on DoD’s Credentials Quality Assurance System 4.x version under the sole-source, fixed-price contract, DoD said Thursday.
DoD and VA plan to use the joint credentialing platform to support privileging procedures for medical providers, perform electronic management of disability claims and malpractice cases as well as monitor adverse action investigations by health providers, according to DoD.
DHA will obligate the full contract amount from both departments’ joint incentive funds at the time of award and could extend the performance period for another two months upon the availability of additional funds.
