Kratos - ExecutiveMosaicKratos Defense and Security Solutions has launched an update on its network interaction analysis tool that adds automated site diversity functionality to help satellite and network operators locate backup antennas and switch between antennas without affecting a network’s quality of service.

Kratos said Wednesday SpectralNet 1.2 digitizes radio frequency signals for packetized transport over internet protocol networks to preserve frequency and timing characteristics and restore the signals at its destination.

“In addition to automated site diversity, SpectralNet Release 1.2 opens up new operational enhancements for network operators … These include mitigation of rain fade, new backup and disaster recovery strategies and ground system centralization just to name a few,” said David Soderholm, SpectralNet product manager.

SpectralNet’s automated site diversity application provides an option to switch between geographically dispersed antennas to optimize utilization and look to minimize data loss while it maintains the current quality of service, the company said.
