Health research managementLaboratory Corp. of America has received a one-year, $66.2 million contract modification to provide clinical reference laboratory testing services to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Defense Health Agency.

The Army Medical Command at Fort Sam Houston in Texas is the contracting activity and will provide performance location and funds with each order, the Defense Department said Monday.

The company is scheduled to complete contract work by Sept. 30, 2017.

Burlington, North Carolina-based LabCorp specializes in esoteric testing, genomics and clinical and anatomic pathology and works to process tests on nearly 470,000 specimens a day.
