deep-spacePoland has released a document that provides information on the country’s initial strategy to develop the space industry and related programs, Space News reported Wednesday.

Jaroslaw Adamowski writes the space strategy aims to increase the Polish government’s spending on the space sector, develop the country’s first satellite and create a new economic model that would depend on novel technology platforms.

The report said Poland currently allocates approximately 0.01 percent of its gross domestic product to the space industry and has 108 space-related research projects that are funded by the European Commission.

Poland’s ministry of economic development drafted the strategy as part of its Plan for Responsible Development, Adamowski reports.
