Ultimate Software has received certification from the Commerce Department that verifies the company’s compliance with a joint U.S.-European Union framework for data privacy protection.
The company said Wednesday the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework is intended to replace the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor and requires companies to protect the personal data of Europeans.
Ultimate Software also obtained the TRUSTe privacy certification that validates the company’s compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as well as commitment to privacy and security.
The Privacy Shield Framework seeks to increase transparency on the use of personal data by commercial entities, U.S. government oversight and cooperation with EU data protection authorities.
