nkf_editedThe 36th Annual Masquerade Kidney Ball, hosted by the National Kidney Foundation, is being held at the Washington Hilton on November 19th. Chaired by SAP NS2’s Mark Testoni, the evening will be full of entertainment and inspiration. The Masquerade Kidney Ball features a cocktail reception and silent auction, dinner and awards presentation, a mission appeal and live auction, and entertainment provided by rock band Three Dog Night.

The NKF will be presenting three awards at the Masquerade Kidney Ball. The honorees are chosen each year based on their longstanding support and dedication to the NKF mission.

The 2016 Honorees of the National Kidney Foundation Awards are:

Outstanding Achievement: Greg J. Baroni, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Attain, LLC

Greg J. Baroni has been involved with the National Kidney Foundation for over a decade, as NKF’s mission is near and dear to his heart due to his father’s passing from kidney disease. Mr. Baroni has served on the Kidney Ball Executive Committee in the past, and chaired the event in 2005. Since then, he has remained a steadfast supporter, encouraging his team at Attain, LLC to participate in many NKF activities throughout the year, including the Northern Virginia Kidney Walk, Washington Wizards Organ Donation Awareness Tournament, Kidney Ball and others.

The Outstanding Achievement Award is typically given to an individual who has advocated on behalf of the National Kidney Foundation for many years, often as a result of being personally affected by kidney disease.

Corporate Citizenship: Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc.

Under the leadership of Ed Walter, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director, Host Hotels & Resorts has provided unwavering support to the NKF. This year marks their 20th year of sponsoring the Kidney Ball, in addition to donating countless hotel stays to the auction through the years, and never failing to have a company executive serving on the Kidney Ball Executive Committee to provide even more funding support. Host Hotels & Resorts also supported the National Capital Area Kidney Walk for many years, engaging their large employee base as well.

The Corporate Citizenship Award is given to a company that recognizes the severity of kidney disease as a public health issue, engages regularly with their employees regarding kidney health, and provides significant support to the National Kidney Foundation.

Community Service: iHeartMedia, Inc.

Through the creation of a Local Advisory Board comprised of non-profit leaders from a variety of groups, iHeartMedia has leveraged their reach to bring much needed awareness to the most vital challenges facing our community. For close to 10 years, iHeartMedia has conducted dozens of on-air interviews featuring the NKF, produced and aired many PSAs about kidney disease, and has served as in-kind radio partners for countless events including the Kidney Ball, Kidney Walks, NKF Golf Classics and more.

The Community Service Award is bestowed upon an organization or group that has gone above and beyond to spread awareness and educate the public at large about kidney disease and the impact it can have on the community.
